A few images of Owen...

Just a few images of Owen that were recently taken while he laid on his back...he loves to be on the floor looking around!

Memorial Day Weekend

It has been a whirlwind two months since Owen's arrival on April 1st and we are quickly realizing that we have not chronicled them as well as we would like so the camera has been put to use again! This weekend we enjoyed a laid back Saturday and Sunday and then we celebrated Mike's birthday/Memorial Day by watching the parade in downtown Portsmouth with our friends Joy and Carter and having yummy birthday cake with friends in the evening! It is hard to believe that June is here already...

Tatum loves to take good care of Owen (and to give us silly smiles)

Bathtime Fun!

Tatum has a new pal to play around with in the tub and we are lucky that he likes tub time! We look forward to the days that he can splash her back...

A Few New Pictures

It has been awhile, but we finally had a little time to post some pictures. Owen is growing quickly and his looks seem to be changing by the day. We still aren't too sure who exactly he looks like, but his laid back attitude is much more like Mike's!

Welcome Owen Michael!

At 10:52 a.m. on Thursday, April 1st Owen became the newest member of the Smiley family. He was a respectable 7 lbs 7 ounces (prior to losing 1/2 a pound at the time of discharge) and 20 1/4 inches long. So far we can say that Owen is an excellent sleeper, however, we expect that to change. Tatum has proved to be an excellent and loving big sister. Enjoy the pictures!

Fun at the Botanical Gardens

This past Thursday Tatum and I (Lindsey) had the chance to join our friends at the Botanical Gardens for a fun-filled afternoon in the children's garden, aka "The World of Wonders." It was a beautiful day out and the temperature was a comfortable 75 degrees. Tatum had a blast playing with her b.f.f'.s, Elise and Carter, and mommy enjoyed the company of Rebecca and Joy. We are squeezing in some last minute activities before Baby Boy Smiley joins the family!

Spring Arriving!

After a long winter (by Virginia standards), it appears that it is finally spring in southern Virginia. After going out to breakfast we took a leisurely stroll on the beach we used to live nearby while here during 2005-2006. It was a balmy 70 degrees at 11:00 and Tatum enjoyed playing in the sand. Funny though, her odd request of the day was to make a "snowman" in the sand.

Back to Reality!

After a relaxing few days at the beach, it is time to head back to reality in Virginia. Unfortunately, the weather was 10-15 degrees below average during our visit, but that didn't stop Tatum from playing on the beach and collecting seashells! It was still a nice break from the 30s and 40s with scattered rain and snow showers that Virginia had while we were gone. Tatum has also started the new fun habit of asking "where are we?" every 1 minute in the car. Overall it was a nice break from work/housecleaning/dog care, etc. and we really enjoyed our time with Tim and Carlye.

35 Weeks

St. Pete Beach, Florida

Here are a few shots from the first two days of our (much needed) trip to St. Pete Beach, Florida. We were lucky in that it worked out to meet our great friends, Tim and Carlye, down here for a fun-filled four day getaway before we head home and excitedly await the arrival of our little guy! Check back as we will post some more pictures of our fun in the sunshine state.
